The weather has allowed us to use the grounds, patios and greens here and its great to see the umbrellas up to shade from the sun…not to keep off the rain.
The care home has scheduled and performed activities for our residents in the open air, long may this continue.
Although the worry of Covid-19 still looms over us up and down the country we are slowly moving forward with planning events for later in the year for the Community as a whole.
The Friends Of Holy Cross Care Village will be putting on a quiz night in October, we have rescheduled a Community ‘Curry night’ (delicious authentic curries) from July to November 24th and are looking to recommence Coffee Mornings from August 18th.
The function room as a venue is being used throughout the week, we welcomed Pauline Craddock with her exercise and well-being classes for the over 55’s on a Tuesday and Wednesday morning, Mahjong is now twice a month as well as yarncraft group, Andy Marzetti’s gentle exercise and movement to music (weekly), Qui Gong with Alan Strong, Pilates with Stacie, Yoga with Grace from Uckfield Yoga etc etc. We are even going to host a ‘Belly Dancing Class’ one Saturday later in the year……….well!
The Stonehill dining room sees an increase in popularity week on week, we welcome our new assistant chef Jordan who has an excellent pedigree in his field, look out for the latest menu changes.
Waldron Community Market are set to return again on Thursday 14th, will be great to see you all again.
Oh, and a big THANK YOU to the Men’s Shed for producing the superb planters and trellis for the care home courtyard, excellent! and to the ‘Friends’ for purchasing these and stocking them with the beautiful array of colour and life.
